Your Budget
Generally, economy cars are priced slightly cheaper when compared to intermediate cars. If you have a tight budget, it would make more sense to go with an economy car. If the length of your trip is long or if you would be taking trips to far-off places, an economy car would work out to be much cheaper.
Number of Travelers
An economy car would be able to fit up to 2 adults and 2 kids. On the other hand, an intermediate car would be able to fit up to 5 adults comfortably. So if you have more than 2 adults who would be regularly traveling, then an intermediate car would be a better choice. Since economy cars are slightly smaller in size when compared to intermediate cars, you get more legroom in an intermediate car. That means it is more comfortable during long trips on the road.
